- Commit to staying until the ceremony's completion; no leaving once arrived.
Preparation:
- Bring 5 days' food; no meals served.
- Keep a waiver confirmation screenshot for a seamless registration.
MADRINAS - Guiding Your Moondance Journey
IF NO MADRINA:
Connect via WhatsApp for support. Choose a Madrina after your four-year Moondance.
IF YOU HAVE A MADRINA:
Godmothers help prepare you. Dance with her for four nights. If she has a specific role, dances with other sisters.
IF YOU ARE A MADRINA:
Ensure your Goddaughter is informed and guided. Introduce her, ensuring registration and regalia size. Instill an understanding of the way of life and the four-year commitment.
MADRINA RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent friendliness and commitment.
- Support with love, words, and strength.
- Provide companionship, and clarify intentions.
- Embrace sisterhood, unity, and reverence.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES:
- Foster love in the Madrina-Ahijada connection.
- Harmonize with nature; seek wisdom from elders.
- Remember the voice and heart that led you.
- Empower Yourself through Loving Action and Unity.
REGALIA, LINES, & FASTING - Preparing for Moondance
REGALIA:
Reflect heritage with medium or large-sized dresses. New dancers' regalia included; experienced dancers can purchase HERE.
FASTING:
Integral to purification. Water is allowed; basic vegan food is suggested. Inform line leaders of fasting choice.
PIPE (CHANUPA) INFORMATION:
Use your Chanupa during the dance. Women from other Moondances with a Moondance Chanupa are invited.
CHILDREN:
No childcare provided. Supervise kids; fill out a liability waiver. Pregnant dancers or those with toddlers may consider staying home.
WHATSAPP GROUP:
Join for dance-related info. Respect privacy and group rules.
TEMAZCAL - The Womb of Tonantzin
Embrace the ancient tradition of Temazcal, a sacred steam bath ceremony.
Inclusivity in Sacred Moments:
- Women on their moon cycle are welcomed inside.
Rhythmic Sweat Lodge Ceremonies:
- Attend all eight Temazcales.
- Bring two dresses for Temazcales.
FIREKEEPERS & SUPPORTERS - Upholding the Sacred Fire
New Firekeepers:
- Attend first year as Supporters. Apply for Firekeeping on second year.
- Firekeepers from other dances must initiate a new four-year commitment with us.
Sacred Conduct:
- Cultivate an atmosphere of love and unity.
- Photography during ceremonies or Temazcales is strictly prohibited.
Protocol for Men and Supporters:
- Maintain silence.
- Goodwill, unity, and respect are vital.
- Men are not permitted to roam in the Moondancer's camp.
- No contact with the Dancers once the Ceremony begins.
Ceremony Travel Info and Arrival Guidelines
Transportation:
Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport is closest. Car rental is recommended.
Arrival Protocol:
Arrival and Registration on July 6th from 10am - 3pm. The core group arrives July 5th to help with setup. Everyone planning to participate must be on site by 3pm July 6th when Registration officially closes.
Accommodation Options:
- Camping is included for all. Bunkroom reservations Below
- No sleeping in vehicles, cars will be parked outside the grounds.
- Separate camping areas for Supporters/Firekeepers & Dancers, even those with partners.
Covid-19 Guidelines and Health Measures:
- Strict adherence to La Ventana guidelines as requested.
- Immediate departure for symptomatic cases.
- Protocol applies for any highly contagious illness or infection in addition to Covid-19.
Essential Information:
- Self-sufficiency in food; kitchen access for bunk room renters only.
- Full upfront payment required; no refunds, but credit within 24 hrs of booking.
Cancellation Policy:
- Notify within 24 hrs for cancellation acceptance.
- No refunds; credits only for health emergencies.
